
Open Garden Squares Weekend
On Saturday 14th June we are once again proud to be taking part in this well-established annual event. Over the past seven years the Friends of Carnegie Library have renovated the formerly derelict enclosed garden at the rear of the library, in co-operation with Lambeth Council and with funding from the Big Lottery Fund under the BBC Breathing Places scheme and the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association.

With the local elections coming up on 22nd May, representatives from Libraries for Life for Londoners (LLL) have prepared a list of suggested questions to put to candidates regarding library services:
Carnegie’s usage keeps going up…
In our August 2013 Newsletter I reported statistics of library usage showing the numbers of visitors and issues in each location gave a picture at Carnegie of continued improvement. For example, there were 200 more visits in October 2012 than October 2011, and 580 more in April 2013 than April 2012.
